Munggur wood is a natural timber, and as such, it is a 'living' material.
Munggur wood products will respond to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. Movements and cracks may occur as the timber adjusts – this is not a fault but a natural occurrence within the fibres of a natural product.
The natural moisture content of solid munggur items is high. Although our products are kiln-dried for an extensive period, the design of this particular product embraces a thickness in timber that retains moisture at its core. During transport, moisture may surface and leave water blemishes. While we have a process to further enhance our munggur wood pieces after receiving them at our warehouse, the moisture content of munggur wood can still fluctuate, and excess moisture may resurface. Water blemishes are to be expected and are part of the inherent characteristics of solid munggur wood.
Additionally, some pieces may exhibit black stains, which are a natural occurrence. These marks are not faults but a result of the wood's interaction with its environment. The stains enhance the unique character of each piece, making it one-of-a-kind.
As with any natural material, existing fluids and moisture can leech over time, which may cause stains on some surfaces. We do not recommend placing this natural timber piece directly onto carpets or rugs. Moisture will generally seep through the ends of the timber. If placing it on carpets or rugs, markings may be avoided by using a protective liner, such as thick plastic.
Many of our timber ranges feature characterful woods with naturally occurring knots and a variety of colours. Grain and knot variations in the wood are characteristics of timber, not defects.
No two pieces of munggur timber are alike, and customers should expect variance in tone, veins, grain pattern, leaching, cracking, knots, and black stains.
None of the above is considered a fault; we embrace these elements as the natural characteristics and beauty of timber furniture.
Uniqwa does not offer refunds, replacements, or exchanges based on the natural look of the timber as described. These unique aspects are an accepted part of purchasing Uniqwa furniture.
