The Sharman Bench is a beautifully hand-crafted piece, designed to complement the Sharman Dining Table. Made from reclaimed marine teak, this bench boasts square, tapered feet and carries a rich history.

Each piece of teak is salvaged from old fishing boats, once sailed by Sulawesi fishermen across the remote Indonesian islands. Known for its extreme durability, this timber has withstood the rough southern oceans, making it as strong as it is unique.

The weathered planks, aged by the elements, are carefully selected, lightly sanded, and planed, preserving their authentic character. Distinctive nicks, cracks, knots, nail holes, and imperfections tell the story of the wood’s provenance, making each bench truly one of a kind.

Crafted with meticulous care, this bench celebrates the beauty of natural imperfections and reclaimed materials. As with all hand-finished pieces, variations in the wood are to be expected and cherished.

To maintain its beauty, apply a thin layer of bee’s wax once or twice a year. This will enhance the natural finish and allow the teak to last for generations.

Our collections are mostly individually hand-made pieces. As most of our products are made from natural materials, texture, colour, and pattern may vary from piece to piece. Reclaimed timbers, naturally weathered materials and off-cuts otherwise discarded are frequently part of Uniqwa design features.

Natural splitting, cracking, and loss of natural oils may occur and form part of the characteristics and beauty of Uniqwa products. These are not viewed as imperfections or faults but as part of timber's natural life and beauty.

We believe the result of using natural materials and hand-crafted elements is a testament to the unique qualities found in materials originating from nature.
