Introducing Kirstin Keysers; the Founder of Kivari
A love of fashion began at a young age for Kirstin, when her mother taught her to sew; a skill that marked the beginning of her fashion journey.
Although she didn't go the traditional route of a fashion designer, and instead took the avenue of a more stable career as a Radiographer at first, Kirstin; affectionately known as "Kiki" wasn't about to give up her daydream that fast.
From making her own dresses to travelling around Europe in a Combi with her parents as a young girl, Kirstin's desire for creative expression and culture only grew as she matured.
After visiting 80 countries as an Emirates air-hostess, Kirstin's travel experiences inspired her to begin sketching designs for small leather wallets and bags during a surf trip to Indonesia. It was during this time that her bohemian-luxe fashion brand; Kivari was born.
Kivari; the bohemian label that was ready to see the world
Starting with a market stall in Burleigh Heads Markets, Kirstin's designs were admired by many, and in just five years, Kivari’s first concept store was born in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Fast forward to today and Kivari’s bohemian pieces are stocked in over 100 retail stores worldwide, including their flagship store in Byron Bay; which is home to their new holiday property; Salta.
Salta Byron Bay; it’s all in the name
A connection to the beach may be the first association with the name Salta, but it has a much more personal connection for Kirstin. Having welcomed her new son Atlas in 2020, Salta is a reflection of his arrival and is in fact; Atlas' name spelt backwards.
The idea of a holiday home wasn't new to Kirstin; however, when she went to visit her in-laws with her hubby, they came across the ultimate space; the building attached to the Top Shop Cafe; a trendy celebrity spot down the road from where they were staying.
The rest, they say is history.
