Due to Indonesia’s extended wet season, Uniqwa does not commence Munggur production between November and March. Munggur is highly sensitive to moisture, and producing or storing pieces during this period can compromise the integrity and longevity of the timber. To uphold the quality standards expected of Uniqwa, all Munggur items ordered during this time will enter production from March, and extended lead times may apply.
For clients working to specific project timelines, we welcome you to connect with your Uniqwa account manager to discuss current ETAs and suitable options.
Munggur wood is a natural timber, and as such, it is a living material that responds to variations in temperature and humidity. Expansion, contraction, movement, and cracking may occur as the timber adjusts. These are not faults but natural characteristics of solid wood.
Although our Munggur pieces are extensively kiln-dried, the substantial thickness of the timber naturally retains moisture at its core. During transport or over time, this moisture may surface and create water blemishes. While our team further enhances each piece upon arrival at our warehouse, moisture levels can continue to fluctuate. Surface blemishes and moisture spots are inherent to Munggur and are to be expected.
Some pieces may also exhibit black staining, which forms naturally as the timber interacts with its environment. These markings contribute to the individuality of each piece and are considered part of the timber’s unique character.
As with all natural timbers, residual moisture can slowly leech over time, potentially marking absorbent surfaces. We do not recommend placing solid Munggur pieces directly on carpets or rugs. Using a protective liner, such as thick plastic, may help minimise surface transfer if placement on soft flooring is required.
Many of Uniqwa’s timber ranges feature characterful woods with naturally occurring knots and tonal variations. No two Munggur pieces are alike, and clients should expect differences in tone, grain pattern, veins, leaching, cracking, knots, and black stains.
These elements are embraced as the natural beauty and authenticity of timber furniture. For this reason, Uniqwa does not offer refunds, replacements, or exchanges based on the natural characteristics described above.
