DESCRIPTION

The Khufu Pendant explores volume, texture, and shadow through a layered hand-forming composite process that gives each piece its own surface depth and tonal character.

Designed to soften light rather than project it, the pendant creates a quiet, atmospheric glow that enhances space without visual noise.

Formed from a composite of reclaimed paper fibres, natural binders, and solar-assisted curing, the collection reflects a commitment to low-impact production without compromising form or finish. Each piece develops subtle variation as it cures and dries, resulting in an inherently individual finish.

Finish

Crafted from a hand-formed small batches of papier mâché composite with an antique mud finish, natural variations in surface texture and form are integral to the design and should be expected.

No two pendants are identical. Variations in surface, tone, and form are intentional outcomes of the process and central to the design.

Socket

Fitted with an E27 socket, suitable for LED globes up to 25W.

Mounting

Ceiling-mounted.

Electrical Fitting

Includes an electrical fitting.

Suspension Wire

Includes a 90cm suspension wire.

Note

Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

This piece is exceptionally heavy due to the density of the papier-mâché, which may also result in slight warping during suspension. These elements are intentional and contribute to the authenticity of the design, enhancing its organic appeal.

Our collections are mostly individually hand-made pieces. As most of our products are made from natural materials, texture, colour, and pattern may vary from piece to piece. Reclaimed timbers, naturally weathered materials and off-cuts otherwise discarded are frequently part of Uniqwa design features.

Natural splitting, cracking, and loss of natural oils may occur and form part of the characteristics and beauty of Uniqwa products. These are not viewed as imperfections or faults but as part of timber's natural life and beauty.

We believe the result of using natural materials and hand-crafted elements is a testament to the unique qualities found in materials originating from nature.
